Who We Are
Mission Statement
Woodstream Church Marriage and Family Ministry exists to help couples cultivate a healthy, lifelong marriage and to help families be anchored to Christ, while all are intentionally growing in their love for God and each other, as fully devoted followers of Christ who are committed to His worship, His witness and work until He comes.

The Woodstream Church Marriage and Family Ministry, (MFM), desires to live out the combined mission statements of this ministry and Woodstream Church’s. Our ultimate goal is to support marriages and families in emulating the extreme love, grace and sacrifice, that God demonstrated to us to become His children, to one another.  Thus, the lives of our couples and families would have the potential to draw more people, in their sphere of influence, to want to have a vibrant, meaningful love relationship with Christ.
The Core Team
Anyone who would like to be a part of the MFM Core Team is welcome!

○ In 2025, we are hoping to build a solid core team. But for now, anyone who joins our monthly planning meetings is considered a part of the core team! There is no pressure to take on any specific role or responsibility. This is a year of discovery as we plan. Through this process, we are praying that the Lord will build some solid teams to excitedly serve together in the MFM.

○ Join us every 1st Tuesday virtually from 7-8pm as we plan all the things you see on our page.

Premarital and Marital Counseling

Frequently Asked Questions

    • Print the attached Confidential Intake form and email the completed form to Minister Brian Edwards, bedwards@woodstreamchurch.org
    • Then, you will be contacted within 72 hours to schedule an appointment.
  • Appointments are available in person and virtually.

Is premarital counseling available?

Premarital counseling is available to individuals who have completed
Woodstream Church’s Membership process.

What resources are used for premarital counseling?

Our primary resources for the premarital counseling process are God’s Word and Prepare/Enrich

How long is the premarital counseling process?

Because we recognize marriage as a sacred covenant for a lifetime, we believe that a couple should invest more time and thoughtfulness into their marriage preparation than their wedding planning. The typical premarital counseling process is approximately 8-10 weeks in length. We recommend that couples consider applying to begin the process even before engagement and setting a wedding date.

Can we have our wedding at Woodstream Church?

Your counselor will be able to discuss the details of what is necessary in order to request celebrating your wedding ceremony at the church, but you must be a member and have successfully completed at least a portion of your premarital counseling process to be considered.

We are planning to have our wedding at another venue, but we would like one of Woodstream’s pastors to officiate our wedding. Is that possible, and how would we make that request?

In order to request the services of one of our pastors, you must have successfully completed at least a portion of the premarital counseling process at Woodstream Church. During your counseling period, your pre-marital counselor can assist you in making those arrangements.

Marital Counseling

Marriage is one of the most intimate and significant relationships we share, besides our relationship with God. Marriage can be one of the most uplifting or one of the most difficult aspects of life. Whether your marriage is struggling or thriving, we want to help your marriage become all that God designed it to be.

Who should consider this? Couples who have been married 1-75 years!
  • Marriage counseling should always be considered for anyone who is married.
  • We must understand that every marriage is intended to be a masterpiece reflecting THE marriage between God and His people.
  • Marriage is the most frequent metaphor used in the Bible to describe God’s relationship with His people. In fact, writing to the Ephesians, Paul called marriage a “profound mystery” because the man represents Christ, the groom, while the woman represents His bride, the church.
  • The marital union of husband and wife is a sacred reflection of the gospel itself
